WEEKEND WONDERS CLUB

Saturday bagless days (or "No Bag Days") benefit primary students by replacing academic pressure with experiential, activity-based learning that boosts creativity and physical health. Aligned with NEP 2020, this approach reduces heavy backpack physical strain while fostering social, soft skills, and practical skills through workshops, art, and games, rather than rote memorization.

Weaving a story:

Teachers use story weaving to help students create complex stories from simple clues, often incorporating multiple languages for creativity. A technique where teams spend time capturing stories about experiences, or accomplishments.

Layering Elements: It brings together plot, subplots, characters, and thematic "threads" to create a complete picture.

"Showing" vs. "Telling": Story weaving mixes information with action, emotion, and setting to avoid dull, informational dumps.

Structure: It often follows a path of inspiration, development, exposition, and final storytelling.

Emotional Connection: Effective story weaving uses detailed sensory information to help listeners feel present in the scene.

Learning Outcome:

  • By the end of the activity, students were able to identify the beginning, middle, and ending of a story.
  •  To create simple and meaningful sentences express ideas creatively.
  • Students understood how a story develops step by step.
  •  Improved vocabulary and sentence construction.
  • Gained confidence in speaking and writing.
  •  Enjoyed collaborative learning.
Listen to others and continue the story logically. 🌟
